April 6th, 2007 Glory CD to be released

Michael's 5th CD will be released in May 2007. He's promoting the CD with several CD release parties including May 4 at Kensington Community church and on May 11 at Oak Pointe Church. See performance dates for all the details.

April 5th, 2007 Here's what Michael has been up to in 2006/2007

As in the past few years, Michael continued his work with Chrysler performing at the Detroit Auto Show and in Beijing. We will be posting picture from Bejing soon. Michael spent a lot of time in the studio as well. He worked with J. D. Lamb again on his CD, Feel That along with working with Steve Acho on his CD, It's hard to be cool. Hope Orchestra has been in the studio as well. Michael also carved out some time to complete his CD, Glory to be released in May. Look for it on sale at CD baby or email us for a copy. Michael has continued to work with the young artists in Birmingham, judging (and producing a song for the winner) in the Birmingham battle of the the bands each summer. In 2006 Michael once again worked with Karen Newman on her annual Christmas show.

January 25th, 2006 2005-2006 Chrysler Tour

Michael along with his band having been spending the last year traveling and performing at various Chrysler events. They performed at the 2005 and 2006 Detroit Auto Shows along performing in: London, England, Geneva, The South Of France, Germany, and Hawaii all in 2005.

January 24th, 2006 New CD In Development

Michael is beginning production on his fourth CD. It should be ready for release in the summer of 2006.

December 20th, 2005 Michael Works with Karen Newman as Live Show Producer

Karen Newman will be performing a Christmas concert at Andiamos. Michael was asked to work as a music director pulling together musicians and working with Karen on song selection and arrangements. It is sure to be quite an amazing show with 8 of the finest Detroit musicians on stage including Michael King, Robert Tye, Rob Harrison, Dale Grisa, Gia Warner, Steven Taylor, Steve Acho and of course the talented Karen Newman.

July 14th, 2004 Michael King Music, Inc Commissioned to write Ryder Cup Music

Michael has been commissioned to write and produce the music for the opening cermonies of the Ryder Cup. He's been busy auditioning percussionists, pipers, singers and other players along with working in the studio on the music that they will perform. And on top of all that Michael was asked to play the In The Park Concert in Birmingham the week of the tournament.

June 14th, 2004 Chris Cheshire (Formerly of Sister Seed) Release solo CD

Michael worked with Chris Cheshire and Danny Cox (co-producer) to put out one of Detroit's best new CD's. Check it out. You'll love it.

April 3rd, 2003 CD Release Party

The CD Release Party has been scheduled for May 22 at Memphis Smoke. The whole band will be there and a great openning act is scheduled as well. Come check it out. The show starts at 9:00pm.

March 15th, 2003 Motion is Now Available

Michael's new CD, Motion is now available. You can pick it up by sending a check for $15.00 to PO Box 2034 (if you also send an e-mail telling us to look for the check we can get it out to you faster). Or to order by credit card go to CD Baby. And if you haven't already please send us your e-mail address so we can let you know when the CD Release Party is scheduled as well as other big events.

March 14th, 2003 Major Changes To This Web Site

As you may have notice, we've just started updating this site to include the new CD, Motion. You can hear some of the tracks (mp3), there are new pictures to check out (and more to come from the Listening Room performance), new CD's on the producer's page, the bio page has been updated and we are working on new video clips, more photos and more dates. So keep checking back.

February 5th, 2003 Big Show Coming Up At The Listening Room

This is the show to go to this year Michael and Danny will be opening the evening performing songs from three CD's. Motion, Michael's latest CD will be available. And if that weren't enough, Peter Mayer will be performing after Michael. He's an outstanding performing in town for this special engagement.

December 28th, 2002 Stewart Francke's Wheel Of Life

Stewart Francke has just released his latest CD, Wheel Of Life. Michael King worked with Stewart on this CD over the summer.

July 30th, 2002 Production Wrapping up

Michael's been really busy in the studio working on several projects including, Chuck Shirock, two new CD's both have been released, Barbara Payton, and Terry Farmer, this one should be wrapped up by fall as well. Stay tuned for upcoming release parties and for information on these acts plus some others King will be working on this fall...

August 17th, 2001 Jesus Jones Mixes New CD in Michael King's Studio

Mike Ewards, the lead singer of Jesus Jones and Ted Mason, of Modern English, were in Detroit working with Michael in early August. The new Jesus Jones CD, "London" will be released on Mi5 Records, where Ted is a co-owner, and is due out in early October. Michael, along with Mike and Ted worked on mixing the CD in Michael's studio. Mike and Ted both made special guest appearances up at Four Green Fields, King's weekly Thursday night gig. Look for pictures from the event on this website...coming soon...
